Underwater Photography

*This photograph doesn't belong to me*

Photography can take a person into some breathtaking environments. In my opinion, one of the harshest environments to shoot in is underwater due to the difficulty to take a photograph. A camera needs to be enclosed in a protective housing in order for it to survive underwater, this alone can cost as much or even more than the camera itself. You have to take into account of water clarity, current, lack of light, an even refraction of light when you travel underwater. As depth increases, colors begin to fade out and all look the same dark color, so a light source is required. A dive certification is required to shoot underwater photography, which takes time and skill to master. Like my previous post about aerial photography, underwater photography is special because the level of difficulty is much higher to take the shot.
